Ever felt like you’re your own worst enemy when it comes to your diet?

I don’t even like using the word diet as it immediately brings thoughts of restriction

What we eat and why is a way of life and that can either support your health or destroy it

Been there, done that

And to be totally honest this is a bit of a confession…

See only a little while back every time I was about to complete a work task or finish a project I’d find myself mindlessly rummaging through the kitchen cupboards or going straight for the fridge door to check what yum stuff I can find in there

I’d literally go for anything salty or crunchy I could find, take it back to my desk, finish the whole thing and then attempt to complete what I was doing

By that point frustration and anger started creeping it

I was angry and frustrated with myself (obviously) for being out of control of my cravings

And more often than not, those emotions would overwhelm me so much so I could not finish my tasks and projects

And then I would feel ashamed of myself, as I thought I should know better

It was almost like one part of me knew exactly what she should be doing

Yet another was like a wrecking ball, crushing every single ounce of my willpower

And it wasn’t until I realised what was truly going on for me that I could start understanding how to put a stop to those mindless urges

The thing is, there could be so many reasons that we attempt to find for our mindless eating

Yet I can tell you this with 100% confidence – lack of willpower is not your problem here!

It’s how your body and mind do or do not work together

Over the years of working on my own urges and those of countless of our female clients

I realised that no matter how much we try to dress it up

What it really comes down to is fear of failure or fear of success

Either way, they’re both just a version of our fear of judgment

We don’t want to be judged for what we feel is our failure and equally we’re scared of what people would think if we’re successful

Therefore we seek comfort in food that deep down we know we don’t need and shouldn’t be eating

Can you see how a ‘diet’ or an exercise plan just won’t cut it?

Not much will change unless we understand what’s really driving that food devil that lives on your shoulder

I don’t know what you have going on this month but as Cliff and I are putting together this epic workshop helping women silence that food devil, we’d love to help you with that, like we’ve helped so many other women.

Send me a DM if you’re up for that so we can speak more about it!

M x

❤️
