Before I start, this isn’t about ‘curing’ disease.

As someone that has worked with hundreds of people with chronic illness and overcome my own, I’ve come to see some trends…

Trends that separate those that get better and those that give up and stay on medication from life, thus likely getting another chronic illness a long the way.

1. Mindset.

People are often in the victim mindset and believe that their body is letting them down. Without questioning this, you will never change a chronic issue.

2. Blaming Genetics.

People blame their family for the genes they have been passed. Yet science shows us your genetics only play a roughly 10-15% role in your outcome.

Thus, how you eat, sleep, breathe, move etc are all creating your health or disease.

3. Refusing to be active.

Most people that come to me are not physically active enough. I’m not talking weights or hardcore cardio, I’m simply talking about people even walking each day to stimulate important processes in the body.

4. Don’t prioritise sleep.

Many people with chronic illness have poor sleep hygiene, they go to bed too late, they’re on electronics till late, not consistent with their sleep / wake times.

Your circadian rhythm regulates your immunity in a big way. When sleep is poor, so is your health.

5. Justify foods that harm their health.

When people have chronic health issues, there are certain foods that are going to cause issues in the body, not forever but certainly during inflamed periods.

Diet is essential to recovering from symptoms.

6. Poor Hydration.

Not drinking enough quality water will over time cause more and more issues with health. Combine that with just drinking standard city sourced water that is devoid of trace minerals, you’ll struggle to hydrate your cells.

7. Too high level of Alcohol consumption.

Alcohol, when broken down creates a by-product that is toxic to your body. I don’t care how much ‘antioxidants’ you think are in it, with chronic illness, alcohol is making it worse even if you drink only 2-3 times a week.

8. Self sacrificing.

When you put others needs before your own, whether that’s food or otherwise, you sacrifice your needs.

Stop it otherwise you just get resentful and it boils over.

9. Lacking vital nutrients.

People often lack on their vegetable intake in their diet and this leaves them without necessary nutrients to fuel essential cell functions.

10. Breathe through their mouth.

When we breathe through our mouth we struggle balance levels of oxygen and carbon dioxide. This is a big problem as we require both to power the cells.

Simply, breathe through your nose.

11. Instant gratification.

Picking the easy option over the harder option ruins health. Picking to eat the cake every day after every evening meal or picking sweets to sit in front of the tv with.

To improve health they’re must be an eye on the long game.

12. Not having a plan.

People lack a clear plan of how to get symptom and med free. Thus they drift and convince themselves that nothing can be done.

13. Believe medications are there to help them.

Medications for chronic disease are nothing but symptom suppressing which end up dis-regulating other pathways and systems.

14. Don’t prioritise time.

It takes conscious effort to plan meals, to fit in calming exercises. If we don’t prioritise our time we will simply get swept up in life experience.

15. Out source power.

We give too much power to doctors, believing they have all the answers for our bodies. When we do this we disempower ourselves and it doesn’t give us an ability to take control of health.

16. Lack consistency.

Often I find people jumping from one thing to another in the hope for a magical cure.

To improve a condition you have to be consistent over time. End of.

17. Lack resilience of the total body.

Most people work on ‘the gut’ or the ‘thyroid’ etc This will lead to short term wins and long term frustration.

Your body is only as strong as your weakest link, thus you have to build strong foundations in all areas of the body together.

18. Laugh more.

We can take life too seriously and forget we are all going to die soon enough. So laughing is good for your immunity and your overall health.

19. No Sweating.

Sweating is essential and a very important way to clear things out of the body. Not sweating over time will be an issue for many.

20. High Stress.

Whether mental, emotional or physical, stress is stress on a physiological level. When you hold high levels of stress you will be starving your body of essential pathways that have been proven to lead to illness.

Now, this isn’t an exhaustive list.

Its just some observations, not all will apply to everyone but if you correct the ones you DO currently do on this list, you’ll improve.

You have the power to be symptom and medication free from chronic illness.

Its not IF its WHEN.

You just have to make a decision to change.

It’s no surprise we are seeing things like studies done on Herbalife and their products with scary findings.

The most recent, linked the use of Herbalife to liver failure and found traces of heavy metals, toxic compounds and pathogenic bacteria.

Now, I don’t think the ‘original’ idea of the founder was for it to end up this way.

Yet, it has.

When I consider the health industry, I actually right now see it as a ‘reactive’ industry.

A study (whether good or rubbish) is released implicating a certain food – then the next week there are ‘supplements’ to help.

It’s a crazy scenario in my brain!!

Yet with all this reactivity, things are getting worse.

Lifetime expectancy went DOWN for the first time in our modern world.

With all this money we spend on ‘research’ for things like heart disease, cancer and such like…

You would think we are getting closer.

Truth is, we are not as the answer is very much under our own noses.

Yes, you are born with genes, you inherit many things from parents.

Ladies can thank mothers for their little cellular batteries (mitochondria) which dictate your energy and so on.

Yet this is a TINY piece of the puzzle.

You could argue I got the dregs of the gene pool.

Born with spinal deformation, HLA genes that triggered to set off an autoimmune disease…

A brain tumour.

You’d think I’d have a right to moan, right?!

Yet, here I am 10 years free of ANY and all illness.

How so? Firstly.

I spent 10 years, studying, researching and applying changes to my life.

From my mind to my body.

I pride myself on going pretty deep.

Those that get me speaking on health can attest!

But I haven’t to date found a ‘quick’ way to restore years of poor choices and believe me I’ve tried them all.

From shake diets to apple diets to cabbage soup diets to fasting etc

Yet let’s be honest NONE of them are set up to be long term.

What I teach is not a ‘fix’ it’s the fundamentals of health at a biochemical and cellular level.

Do all the ‘lymphatic drainage’ you want or ‘fix’ the digestive system or try to balance hormones…

Yet understand this…

A system is made up of organs, organs are made up of tissues and tissues are made up of cells.

Trillions of cells.

If we do not know what is creating imbalance in the cells, it’s all reactive work.T

ake bruising easily – we can easily point to Vit C deficiency.

So you take a few grams a day over a month.

What if it doesn’t get better?

Or what if it does but when you come off the supplement, it comes back.

Have you learnt anything? No.

My view is to understand why a deficient pathways would occur.

That’s where

Environment

Food

Deficiencies

Genetics

Sleep

Stress

Radiation

To name a few have to be assessed!

10 reasons, as a lady you can’t lose and sustain weight loss (that aren’t calories or exercise)

1. Irregular meal timings

Your body works on very specific ‘clocks’, thus meaning its used to secreting hormones / enzymes at specific times, thus when you have erratic meals you can put the body in ’emergency’ as it wasn’t expecting food. This puts pressure on your bodies ability to burn fat.

2. Poor Sleep

This will 100% screw your weight loss and lead you to high cravings, poor mood and weight gain.

Its essential that the first 4 hours of your sleep are the best as that’s where you make up for the ‘debt’ of the day. If you go to bed at 12pm or after this can’t happen.

3. Not listening to your body

Many ladies believe that ‘more is better’ when it comes to exercise. WRONG.
that’s just the basic level fitness industry telling you that. When we use real science you actually can do LESS and get more weight loss. We just have to track your recovery.

4. You haven’t accepted where you are

This is crucial. Most of you are rushing away from the ‘pain’ you feel of your current situation

Thats why we use the A.R.A. Method to help you release the past anger, shame and guilt associated with the current situation. You will never be happen in your body if you can’t be happy with it now.

5. Hydration

Not just drinking more water like the fitness industry tell you, but proper cellular hydration. This comes from ionic trace minerals and food you consume.

Poor hydration will freeze weight loss.

6. Inflammation

So many that come to us have gut issues, diabetes and other metabolic issues. These are messing up crucial pathways in the body and make weight loss much harder.

In our 12 week program we address inflammation because honestly, most people struggle with some, even if its a niggly long term joint injury.

7. Circadian Rhythm

Think of this as the master switch to all your cells. When its off, you are off.

That could be mentally or physically.

Your circadian rhythm is regulated by light, food & movement. Making sure they are all at the correct times is vital.

8. You continue to reinforce a story that doesn’t serve you (without even knowing sometimes)

This might be putting yourself down around friends or family, it might be when you look in the mirror or try on clothes.

This has to stop.

9. You believe restriction is needed to get results

Most ladies are so used to restrictive diets that if they see something that isn’t that, unconsciously dismiss it.
Its important you get over the ‘it has to be paleo, vegan, keto to lose weight.’

10. You believe will power and motivation will be enough.

Nope, not even a little bit.

In our programs we teach the basics of why trying to change a behaviour is pointless if you don’t understand the deeper unconscious trigger.

Think about how many times

you have tried different diets, exercise regimes or protocols,

Now think of how many you fully followed through on…

Not a lot right?

Unless you can unlock your subconscious and get it on side, it’s only a matter of time before a trigger (excuse) comes along to derail your efforts.

So there you have it, 10 reasons that MOST ladies we work with are not addressing before they join us.

I could write 20 more but if you committed to even HALF of the above you would kiss goodbye to the struggle and allow it to be easier.

And, if you want to let the inner slim version, the truest, happiest and most purposeful version of you out.

We have just 8 spaces left on our 12 week WOW program, striating next week.

There comes a point when you have to decide if you desire short term results (quick fixes) or long term results (self empowerment).

If an approach is sold to you to involve no active learning or challenging what you currently believe to be true, how will you know what to do when results slow or stop.

I like the ‘keep it simple’ approach but are we over doing it.

I mean, if it was working surely mental health numbers would be better, chronic disease lower.

Right?

Now, I am a science and spiritual dude and I love the geekery associated with it yet you don’t need a biochemistry textbook or some spiritual texts from 3000 years ago lodged in your brain.

I truly believe to have a better quality of life…

You get to practice the following and improve the following.

Mindfulness

Eat food that serves you (no pain / discomfort)

Unbroken sleep

Move your body

Hydration

Stress

There are a million ways to Rome and it’s important you pick METHODS that you feel serve you long term and can sustain.

Sure, I’ve helped people with things varying from colds to cancer but we always start with the above!

Note: If you have chronic illness and someone sells you a cure, be careful, very.

There are many things that reduce symptoms quickly like correcting the above, that doesn’t mean healed. It means improvement.

The body over time adapts and changes and what was a positive change to start can end up causing issues longer term.

That’s why I’m a fan of YEARLY testing to ensure we are not missing early signs.

It’s also why I never put all my energy in one approach whether it be dietary or otherwise.

Critical thinking is required in this day in age.

I’m doing my best personally to continue the learning journey from advanced biochemistry to more eastern medicine.

(I’m a geek for answers.)

If you would like to understand yourself and health better then get in touch!

if you have had testing done that you don’t understand or have started to action but see little to no results, I can help make that clear too

To increase the quality of your life it’s imperative to reduce sustained stress.

Science shows us the more sustained our stress is the more we…

Make poor decisions-reduce memory

Affect sleep quality

Reduce empathy for another

Become more selfish

This is to name a few of a long list.

When I talk about sustained stress I’m of course not talking the ‘temporary’ out of control feeling that you get on a roller coaster.

Stress can be measured on how out of ‘control’ you feel and the associated risk attached.

So a rollercoaster hits both lack of control and slight risk but many find it FUN.

Yet, financial struggle in a struggling economy shoots many people off the scale of stress and how sustained it is.

When I work with professionals and clients I always want them to understand that we as humans have amazing abilities yet sustained stress makes us dumb.

Literally.

As with anything, the body will re-regulate, so if you have sustained stress over a long period you don’t just suffer the effect of the ‘event’, it’s affects the pathways in the body.

Some key areas would be lack of drive or contentment for life

Lowered sexual function and drive

Depression due to over stimulation of neurotransmitter pathways.

Again, just to name a few!

People try all sorts to combat stress but what we do most often which is kind of depressing is ‘project’ our stress on another.

As Dr R.Salposky said “We’d rather give another an ulcer than have our own’.

Stress over a long period doesn’t just contribute to every metabolic illness, it pushes away the people that you care about.

People think meditation or exercise is enough, yet look at stress rates, they just rise and rise.

I believe one of the key things we are missing is understanding of WHY we respond to stress in the way we do.

Whether Marta and I deal with corporate clients, pro athletes or professionals we always want them to understand their BEHAVIOUR and its triggers.

You don’t actually make a choice on behaviour in the moment, that’s just neurotransmitters firing,

You don’t even make it a few hours to days before, that’s just hormonal pathways…

Our behaviours around stress are patterned long before we can imagine.

Thus, simple ‘habit’ change work like ‘morning routine’ without letting someone know why they will likely give up is in my opinion fruitless.

When you can understand behaviours and what contributes to them, you take back power.

More importantly you can contextualise fear.

See it differently and EXPERIENCE it differently.

Irrational fear = it’s presence is going to make all you do feel overwhelming.

One thing I feel as a pattern is irrational fear.

Now you have ‘rational fear’ = the life saving form of fear that triggers the fight or flight response.

It helps to make in the moment decisions about where we are safe or not.

Irrational fear on the other hand is when we take a fear and blow it up with our psyche.

We run to the worse case scenarios and it can feel like the world is coming crashing down.

Yet in reality this will never happen..

When have you actually ever fully lived out these irrational fears?

Whether it be in love,

Money,

Business,

Family etc?

I know for me I have never ever got to the worst case scenario that my brain was perceiving possible.

So when you find yourself running down the rabbit hole of fear and it seems never ending,

STOP.

Take 5 deep breaths and then move to fact.

Do I have proof this will happen?

Even if it did happen, would it be as bad as I am telling myself?

Or am I using self shaming to scare myself unnecessarily?

I know from experience that we spend so much time in irrational fear that we rarely have space for the creation of what we want.

Consider that.

If you spend all day entertaining your fears, when do you have time to create what you actually say you want?

This is where trust and surrender comes in.

Trust yourself that you will and are doing what is in alignment and moving you forward.

Surrender to guidance and flow.

Another reason for irrational fear is your Environment.

The people and places you hang out in will hugely impact how you see the world.

Watch the news? Read the newspapers?

All filled with irrational and blown up fear of what ‘might’ be.

Conversations with friends and family….

Perceptions of how your status is in the world.

Rich or poor?

Healthy or sick?

It ALL Plays a part in collective experience of irrational fear.

So take a step back, consider why you fear what you do?

I guarantee it’s others fears you have placed on yourself AND you

… and not like a bear with a sore head!

Women on average sleep worse than men and report more long term sleep problems (says the science).

– Would you say this is your experience, or are you a lady that sleeps great and your male partner doesn’t?

Either way, we are in a sleep epidemic right now and it should concern us all.

Sleep regulates mood, lord knows we are all horrid to be around when you’ve had a poor nights sleep.

It’s like trying to reason with a bear with a sore head, right?

There certainly are a few reasons WHY women might not sleep as well as men,

1. They often are more empathetic, compassionate and outwardly caring

Thus stressful events often play on the mind.

2. Their hormones at various times of the month (depending on health status) can throw things out.

After working with hundreds of women on their sleep and improving every single one of them, I’ve learnt several things that I see can be improved, and when they are, sleep is always better.

How you manage your food – without consistent meals and balanced blood glucose levels, they’ll always be issues with sleep. You have to start by working out how healthy your blood glucose management is, this can be done with a simple device used around meals.

Movement – Women because of social media, magazines and TV have these often impossible images being sold to them and it’s a huge pressure. Leading them to over train and under-eat the right things. The down side is when things don’t go well, binges often occur. Movement should be based on recovery, not a look of your body. Testing your resting heart rate, blood glucose levels & HRV are some of my ways to help women like you judge movement choice.

Stress – Finding ways to calm the mind, even in the most stressful of places is essential. A little stress is great for you, a LOT of stress over a long time will wreck your sleep.

Inflammation – One of the KEY reasons in those that have tried everything and still wake up between 3-5 am is unidentified inflammation. Inflammation the body burns through energy much faster, thus waking you up in the night.

Sleep patterns – 8 times out of 10 I see poor behaviours around sleep. Watching Netflix till late or in bed, going to bed at all different times, eating late at night and drinking too. These will all mess up with the quality of your sleep.

Now, you can just take the above, change them and get a better sleep…

But I am going to put on a workshop that takes the guess work out of sleep, even if you’ve always been a bad sleeper.

(this is coming from someone that was awake for hours a night for years)

I want to show you:

1. A simple to follow checklist to start getting unbroken sleep.

2. A process that takes less than 20 minutes and will improve sleep quality by 20+%

3. How to balance your blood glucose levels with the right diet for you.

4. How to stop waking up to go to the toilet every night.

If that sounds like something you need, its going to be just £47.

THE SCARS YOU SEE ARE THE RESULT OF EXTERNAL WOUNDS THAT HEALED, YET THIS ISNT ABOUT THOSE ‘WOUNDS’

…(Wrote this 3 years ago, well worth re-visiting)

Take a look at the picture above, what do you see?

Do you see imbalance, do you see scars, do you see anything else?

The scars on my back are a marker of the journey I have been on and NOT the result of a journey I have been on.

These scars are a part of me but they are not who I am.

And these are just a few that I have,

The 6 inch scar on my head from the brain tumour,

The 2 inch scar on my leg from barb wire

And the 2 inch scar on my groin after falling out of a tree….

Not to mention all the scar tissue in my colon from the auto-immune disease of my gut that I used to have.

It can be so easy to allow yourself to define yourself by what or what doesn’t fit the social norms of acceptable on the outside.

I remember being called pretty spiteful names as a kid like ‘hunch back’ etc and I really just wanted to be ‘normal’ in those moments, to have a straight spine.

Yet as the scars fade the wounds feel less severe, they calm down and you start to heal.

But what about the emotional wounds we carry?

In my experience, the emotional ‘wounds’ that I experienced and created are much more long standing than any external wound on my body.

The emotional wounds of bullying for being different, the wounds from being singled out and the wounds for not feeling enough just as I was in this body.

These wounds to this day stay with me much more.

I have made peace with my physical body and find acceptance and gratefulness in how strong it is, considering all the adaptations.

What I have found WAY more of a challenge is the letting go of the internal wounds I mentioned.

The self hatred..

The internal fights..

The thoughts and feelings of rejection…

The not enough ness..

All felt VERY real for me and the funny thing is over the years they got MORE intense, unlike the physical wounds that always heal.

And this is kinda my point today.

If you have internal ‘wounds’, situations that you have faced in your life that cause you large amounts of stress, that bring you down and see you in a downward spiral time to time…

It wont get better UNLESS you choose to face it.

It’s well known the more we turn away from something, the bigger it seems to get.

Take issues in a relationship, both people know deep down if there is an issue but if you refuse to confront it as it feels awkward then it will eventually blow up in your face.

Yet when you turn IN to something, although sometimes fucking uncomfortable, it will shrink.

In time it will feel better and you will heal.

This has been my experience.

That’s why I always tell people, to have what you want is EASY, yet making the choice isn’t.

It’s easy to see the blocks in life, they are represented by the RESULTS that we have.

Yet FACING those results and taking responsibility is the ‘hard’ bit.

Because, as soon as you acknowledge the issue, it becomes yours to deal with.

Not many people like that kind of responsibility simply because they don’t believe in themselves enough to solve the perceived issue.

It’s way easier to blame the world.

A word on blame.

The most unhappy people I have ever met were always a victim in some way.

This happened to me I was dealt a bad hand.. That’s just the way life is.

And I WAS that person, after dying a few times and being beaten emotionally for many years, I believed that I was destined for an unhappy life.

Yet I took responsibility and chose to do something different, to think different, to act different.

It worked out kinda well.

Now I’ll ask you to consider this, where do you hold onto the internal wounds to validate a victim story.

To get connection,

To get significance,

Be honest with yourself as that’s really the only way life is going to change long term for you.

You are not broken and you never were, no matter what you have experienced.

Your path is divinely guided and is always looking out for you.

Now I hear people say to me ‘how can you have that outlook on life after all you went through?’

My reply, I can let the past rule my NOW if i I choose yet that will never give me the opportunity to create my future in a way I prefer.

I am NOT my past, yet the past moments are my fuel, my power and my purpose to live the life I do.

When you can start to see EVERYTHING in life as a gift then you have no fears anymore, just fuel and opportunity to show the world what IS possible.

So you have a choice, just like I do.

Consciously create what you prefer and heal the internal wounds of the past or let the unsealed wounds of the past run the show.

Your choice.
