The Reason Why You’re Exhausted Right Now

Wanna know the reason why you’re so freaking EXHAUSTED right now?

And no…

It’s not the weather and time of the year

I get we’re getting close to the equinox and I know it does affect us

Not to mention the planetary movements and the Schumann Resonance flatlining recently

(I’m not an expert here so won’t pretend that I know much more….)

Yet what I do know is how our mind works

Conscious vs subconscious and the individual and collective power of both

See the thing is everyone (who hasn’t got a fucking clue) is talking about a second wave

Well… the second wave is already here

Yet… it’s not the one you’ll hear about on the news

This one sadly nobody talks about

And I will…

Unravel it just a bit more today so you can choose for yourself whether it resonates or whether it doesn’t

Don’t take my words as gospel

I only share what I know

Yet if it does struck a chord

Take from it what you may and

Go look after yourself

More than you ever have, whatever that may mean to you

What’s happening is that

We’re all tumbling

And we’re doing it at a significant speed right now

A speed that we can’t quite imagine

So back to our mind for a moment

The first wave hit about 6 months ago

When the uncertainty of lockdown, a reality that no one has previously experienced hit all of us and as a result

Most of humanity freaked the fuck out

And fair play…

No one knew what the hell to do with what happened

The world as we knew it seemed to have imploded almost overnight

So it took us all a while to adjust

And by this point right now, most of us have somehow worked out a way to navigate this shitstorm

In our own individual way

We all have our views and we all have opinions

They may be different

Yet what’s the same is the fact that it affected us all, and it did so big time

So we’ve worked as much of our own stuff out over lockdown, we’ve started regaining some hope of normality in the last couple of months (I honestly don’t know if it’s a ‘good’ or a ‘bad’ thing – maybe I get to drink some of my own medicine and re-remember that there really is no good or bad, shit just is and we give it meaning…)

Yet what most of us don’t understand that the way we’re attempting to cope right now is CONSCIOUS!

The shit that we think we’ve worked out – we did so…

CONSCIOUSLY

And here’s the thing – our conscious mind is like a Japanese bullet train 🚅

It adapts on the spot, it’s quick and fast acting. (About 5-10% of our day to day life is controlled by it)

And that’s what we’ve been doing so far, figuring out ways of handling the cards we’ve been dealt in 2020 and adapting quickly to help ourselves survive

(I’m generalising here to paint a greater picture as subconscious would have played a role in how we responded to the hand we were dealt yet stick with me here as I want you to see what’s really going on and why everyone is so freaking knackered)

And then we have the subconscious mind... the powerful (yet old school) steam engine 🚂

It runs 90-95% of our day to day life

It’s a powerful machine that makes our lives easier (or so it thinks) by creating patterns, blueprints and behaviours (especially when we’re growing up)

Once it’s learnt something, it thinks that’s it, there’s no need to re-learn it or do it any other way

There’s a reason why for the first 5-7years of our lives we operate mostly out of theta brain waves (it’s like being permanently hypnotised)

So take a moment now and think about that…

In the first part of your life you’ve learnt almost everything to help you survive, whether you’re aware of it or not

Most of your ways of being, behaviours, thought patterns are run by the blueprints you’d have learnt as a kid

And as a kid you’ve got nothing else to do but learn how to live your life (and sometimes we learn epic shit yet most of the times it’s the messed up paradigms of society and our families, yet that’s not the main point right now)

Think about it – in the last 6 months, EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING your subconscious learnt about life has been ripped up and thrown up in the air and is falling down right now like an uninvited confetti

Your subconscious freaks as it has no idea how to respond

So it scrambles for answers

Goes into fight or flight or even freezes

Desperately attempting to figure out what the next step is

What the hell to do with what’s happening

And most of the time you won’t even know it

You won’t know that it’s happening

Why?

Because you’re unaware of it, that’s the point of our subconscious

The other day I spoke to a client who has a 3 year old

And I said to her

Your little dude is learning so much right now and all he has to be concerned with is to figure life out with your guidance

And you know what?

About 6 months ago every single one of us whether you want it or not has been turned into a clueless toddler yet again…

A toddler that has to re-learn life once again YET

There’s one important difference

We all as adults have much more to do than just play and learn

We all have responsibilities

Families, businesses, jobs and careers, perhaps health issues that we’re dealing with

Can you imagine having to seriously be adulting every day while at the same time re-learning how to live your life 24/7 with no guidance?

In fact any guidance that may be thrown at you like a bone to a stray dog is also changing daily…

The Japanese bullet aka your conscious is doing it’s best to navigate the immediate

And the steam engine behind it is constantly threatened and working serious overtime to figure out what the fuck to do with it all

Our circuits are being fried and we’re beginning to run on empty…

Does that give you a bit of an idea as to why you might suddenly become so freaking tired?

So what the hell do we do with it?

Well…

Here’s my take on it!

(Self) Compassion mode gets to be on 110% right now

And in the madness of all the uncertainty – we get to muster up some patience

Time out and recovery is even more important right now than ever

And that may be physical or emotional

From the obvious, nutrition, hydration, movement and sleep to support the body

To quiet reflective times, whether walks in nature, meditation or self hypnosis

And SPACE to invite support into your life

Knowing that vulnerability means strength and courage

Allowing yourself to FEEL all the feels and remembering

That the craziest thing you can do right now is to make a PERMANENT CHOICE based on TEMPORARY CIRCUMSTANCES.
